World Student’s Day - 15th October

World Student’s Day is celebrated on 15th October every year to celebrate the birthday of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Born in 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu (Madras), he was one of the known aerospace scientists and teachers of his time and contributed his work for the welfare of national organizations like the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Indian Air Force. 

In 2002, he was named the 11th President of the Republic of India. Remembering the contributions of Dr Kalam to education and his commitment to inspiring young people, the Government of India decided to celebrate his birthday as ‘World Student Day.’ This designation aims to honor his legacy and emphasize the importance of education and youth empowerment on a global scale.
