Introduction:
World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated every year on 23 April to promote the joy of reading, encourage publishing, and raise awareness about copyright laws. This day is observed globally under the guidance of UNESCO.
Objective of the Celebration:
To develop reading habits among students
To create awareness about books and authors
To educate students about copyright and intellectual property rights
To encourage respect for authors’ work
Programme Highlights:
PM Shri KV Karnal celebrated this day with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and teachers. Various activities were organized in the school premises:
Reading Session: Students participated in silent reading and shared their favorite book reviews.
Speech & Essay Writing: Students expressed their thoughts on the importance of books and copyright laws.
Poster Making Competition: Creative posters were made highlighting the importance of reading and respecting authors’ rights.
Special Awareness Session:
Teachers explained the concept of copyright in simple terms and highlighted the importance of avoiding plagiarism. Students were guided on how to respect others’ work and use information responsibly.
