 Library Activity – “The India Story”

Classes: III-V

Theme: Unity in Diversity – Know Your India

Activity Description:

Students participated in an engaging worksheet-based activity titled “The India Story.” They explored different states of India and identified one famous feature of each state, such as food, dance, monuments, festivals, temples, handicrafts and natural attractions. Students also completed a section on “My Favourite State & Why”, where they expressed their choice in their own words.

Objective:

To develop awareness about India’s rich cultural diversity.

To introduce students to the unique identity of different states.

To encourage reading, observation and general knowledge.

To develop students’ writing and self-expression skills.

Learning Outcomes:

Students identified important cultural and geographical features of various Indian states.

They developed an appreciation for India’s “Unity in Diversity.”

The activity enhanced their general knowledge, vocabulary and writing skills.

Students expressed their personal preferences confidently and creatively.

Introduction of the Activity

The activity "Be Your Own Champion" was conducted for class VI-VIII to encourage self-motivation, self-confidence and personal responsibility among students. The main purpose of this activity was to make us realize that true success comes when we stop depending on others and start believing in ourselves.


SUDUKO ACTIVITY


Activity: Sudoku – A Brainstorming Activity

Objective:

To develop students’ logical thinking, concentration, problem-solving ability, observation skills and patience through an enjoyable puzzle-based activity.

Activity Description:

A Sudoku puzzle was provided to the students as a brain-teasing challenge. Students were encouraged to study the given numbers, identify patterns and logically fill the empty boxes without repeating numbers in the same row, column or designated box. The activity was conducted in an engaging manner to promote learning through play and encourage students to think independently.

Learning Outcomes:

Enhanced logical and analytical thinking.

Improved concentration and attention span.

Developed problem-solving and reasoning skills.

Encouraged patience, accuracy and independent thinking.

Made the library a more interactive and joyful learning space.

Outcome:

Students actively participated in the activity and enjoyed solving the puzzles. The Sudoku challenge stimulated their minds and provided an effective brainstorming and recreational learning experience.
