A book club meet was organized on 22-10-22 in library,KV Karnal.All the members of book club were present in this event. On the very beginning discussion about book club activity was done with the members about the books already issued to them. In the last book evaluation sheet was discussed with the students.

Pustak Uphaar 2022-23

PUSTAKUPHAAR 2022-23

Pustakuphaar was held in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Karnal on 5-4-2022.Pustakuphaar a book donation drive is a great initiative taken up by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan with a purpose of "Save tree Save Environment". In this drive total 389 books are donated by the students to their juniors.

On the occasion of National Librarian Day Ms. Aditi Gohil ( Class IX A) & Ms. Nistha (Class VIII A) gave speech on Value of Libraries .Through their speech they talk about the importance of libraries in any learning institution & same time explained the importance of Reading in the life of any student. 

Readers Club Activity

                                                            Quit India Movement ( 9th Aug )

On the occasion of Quit India Movement Ms. Kashish the student of Class VIIIA  from the Readers Club gave speech on Quit India Movement in which she highlighted the contribution of various freedom fighters who shed their life to make India free from Britishers. 

        

Jumbled Sentence Activity

 Jumbled Sentence Activity was conducted on 18-8-22 for students of Class 6-8.Through this scrambled word exercise the students can improve their writing skills. Students learned  how to organize the given jumbled words in a sentence in the correct order and make meaningful sentences. This activity help students to improve in his/her reading skills.

 

Book Exhibition on Munshi Prem Chand Ji

 A Book Exhibition of the collection of Munshi Prem Chand Ji  was organized in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Karnal Library on 30th August 2022. Through this Exhibition the students learnt about the Munshi Prem Chand ji the first Indian Author whose writings prominently featured realism ,depicting rationalistic outlook.  

Reading Month Celebration 22-23

     Celebration of Reading Month in KV Karnal from 19.06.2022 to 18.07.2022 

Keeping in mind the spirit of reading books and encouraging the same amongst students KV Karnal Library celebrated the National Reading Month .For this an array of activities & competitions are planned considering the emphasis laid by the National Education Policy 2020 on ' How to read' 'learn to read' ' read to learn'. These activities continued for a month to honor the father of Library movement, The late Mr. P.N Panicker .

The Activities are as follows:-

Reading Pledge Activity: Reading pledge was conducted on the occasion of Reading Day i.e. 19.06,22. All Students & Teachers took part in the pledge.

Show & Tell Activity: was organized for the students of Primary classes ( IV-V).

Story Telling Competition: "It is the stories that gives wings to our imagination & take us into the land of fairies, dragons & wishing tree. To keep this tradition going and to incite curiosity & the love for reading in children a Hindi story telling was organized for classes IV-V .The story was judged on the basis of expression, confidence & presentation skills of the children.

Loud Reading Session: A loud reading session was organized for the classes(III-V).It refers to the process that allows the reader to product sounds using vocal cords .Loud reading session help students to boost the reading skills.

Picture Composition Competition: A picture composition competition was organized for the classes VI-VIII in which students participated with full zeal.

Quiz Competition: It was an five round competition consisting of Books & its Author,Sports,General awareness, English & Hindi. The quiz was a great success & participants enjoyed it thoroughly.

Book Mark Competition :was organized for the classes VI-VIII. This activity unleased the students creativity on a paper with a message to learn & follow.

"Benefits of Reading".

1 Minute Talk about my Favorite Author: was organized for the classes IX-XII.The students were judged on the basis of knowledge & presentation skills.

Give an Alternate Book Title: was organized for the classes IX-XII. In this competition students were supposed to write the summary of the story followed by an alternate title of their choice.
